Why Exercise?
Regular exercise improves your health in a number of ways. When performed on most days of the week, regular physical activity reduces the risk of developing such things as high blood pressure and diabetes and reduces your risk of dying from heart disease. Not only does regular exercise help control weight, it also helps build and maintain healthy bones, joints and muscles as well as promote psychological well-being.

6 Essential Steps for Joining a Health Club-REVEALED
Joining a health club is hard enough-don't make it more difficult by joining a club that doesn't meet your needs. Instead, do the research and make a careful choice. You will find that most health club offer classes, services, equipment, friendly staff, and even some amenities such as steam, massage, towels and more. But, are they the classes, services etc that will benefit YOU? Do you know which ones will be best for you? To make sure that you choose the health club that's best for you, consider these essential factors: location, amenities, atmosphere, staff, cost, cleanliness, equipment, and reputation. 6 Basic Essentials To Look For When Joining
Location: For you to succeed in your health and fitness program, the facility of your choice must be convenient or it will not become a realistic habit that you will form. The faster and easier it is for you to get to your club and park your car, the better. You will use your club 74% more if it is located within a 15 to 20 minute drive from your work or home.
Comfortable Atmosphere: Take a tour of the club. Find out what the members are like, and if you like the atmosphere. Will you feel comfortable working out there? Talk with all of the staff, not just the sales person you meet. If you are a beginner be sure there are classes and programs that will accommodate your level. Select a club where you feel you fit in and are welcome.
Staff: Make sure the club is adequately staffed i.e. there is always someone there that can answer your questions, show you a new exercise, or show you how to use the equipment correctly. Many clubs "skimp" on fitness staff that are knowledgeable and are able to help you. If you do Personal Training you must also be aware that not all Personal Training Certifications are equal. Make sure you know the difference. Some clubs will guarantee your results!
Facility Offerings: Before you visit a club make a list of all the things that are important to you, such as child care, weight loss programs, personal training, cardio equipment, etc., and make sure that the club you choose offers most of them. If a personal trainer motivates you and the club doesn't offer them, keeping up with your program and getting the results you want will be more difficult. Try a class or a program and make sure you find it enjoyable, challenging and educational.
Costs: Everyone is on a budget. Be sure your membership fees fit in with yours. Find out exactly what your membership fees will be and for how long. Find out exactly what your membership includes classes, lockers, child care, towels, etc.? Are there extra costs for extra services? Stick with your budget. If the dues are $49 a month and you can only afford $39 see what type of services you can get for that amount.
Contracts: Some clubs have a one-time initiation fee and require you to purchase a minimum of three months up front, while others allow month-to-month membership. Most clubs will debit your fees directly from your credit card or checking account, which is very convenient. Make sure you understand the cancellation policies and always read your Consumer Rights which should appear on every contract.
Try Before You Buy Membership consultants will educate you as to the benefits of joining a club. If you feel you need to try out the equipment and get a "feeling" for the club before you commit, ask for a day pass or trial membership. Make sure you try out the club at the time you would normally work out; you'll get a better feel for how crowded it is. Notice is there is a wait for the equipment, how helpful the staff is and if the facility is clean. Talk to a few members and ask how they like the club.
REMEMBER, just as you should customize your exercise and nutrition programs to your fitness level, goals and time available, you should choose your health club wisely. Hope this report helps. Good luck searching.
